FAQ

Questions, answered straight.

Your data is yours. We don't sell it, we don't advertise on it, we don't train models on it. Here's the rest of what people ask.

The basics

What is TextMyAgent?
A personal AI agent that runs your email and calendar from your text messages. You connect your inbox once, then text the agent to forward emails, schedule meetings, summarize threads, get a morning brief, and more. No app to download. No new login. Works on any phone via SMS or iMessage.
Does it work with Gmail? Outlook? iCloud?
Gmail and Outlook are fully supported via OAuth. Apple iCloud Mail support is on the roadmap. Your calendar comes along with whichever account you connect.
Does the agent send email on my behalf without asking?
No. The agent will draft replies and show them to you, but nothing leaves your account without your one-tap approval. You are always the last word on outbound.
How long does setup take?
About five minutes. You text the number, the agent texts back, walks you through OAuth on your email + calendar, and you're running.

Security & privacy

Do you sell my information?
No. We do not sell your data to advertisers, data brokers, or any third party. Our business model is a flat $99/year subscription — we don't need to monetize your data, and we won't.
Do you advertise to me?
No. No ads in your texts. No sponsored content. No tracked pixels in your morning brief. You pay for the service and we deliver the service. That's it.
Do you train an AI model on my data?
No. Your emails, your calendar, and your conversations with the agent are never used to train any AI model. The reasoning is performed by Anthropic via the Claude API, and Anthropic's API policy is also no training on customer data. Your data is processed only to serve you, then discarded or stored only as long as needed to keep your agent working.
How secure is my email and calendar data?
Connections use OAuth — we never see or store your email password. All data in transit is encrypted with TLS. Access tokens and any cached data are encrypted at rest with AES-256-GCM. We do not write the contents of your email messages to operational logs.
What permissions do you ask for on my email account?
Only what's needed to do the job: read your inbox (to find emails worth surfacing), send messages and save drafts (only when you direct us to), mark messages read (for ones you've handled through us), and read/add/move calendar events. We do not request the ability to delete email. We do not access contacts, files, or anything we don't need.
If I revoke access, what happens?
Our access ends immediately on the provider side, regardless of anything we do. You can revoke any time through your Google account permissions, Microsoft account apps, or your iCloud app-specific passwords.

What is an AI agent, in plain English?
An AI agent is software that takes actions on your behalf — not just answers questions. A chatbot answers; an agent does. TextMyAgent watches your inbox, drafts replies, schedules meetings, and texts you when something matters. You instruct it in plain text and it does the work.
I've never used an AI agent before. Is this a good place to start?
Yes — this is the easiest on-ramp I know of. You don't need to learn a new tool: if you can send a text, you can use it. You point the agent at the two things that already run your day (your email and your calendar) and you start working with it the same way you'd work with a sharp assistant. No prompt engineering. No "system context." No app to install.
What's the difference between this and ChatGPT?
ChatGPT is a chatbot — you open the app, type a question, get an answer, and move on. TextMyAgent is an agent that lives on your actual email and calendar. It watches what comes in, drafts replies, books meetings, and texts you proactively. ChatGPT doesn't know who your boss is or what's on your calendar; this does.
What can it actually do today?
Surface only the emails worth your attention. Draft replies in your voice. Negotiate meeting times across multiple people. Forward anything (itinerary, contract, school flyer) and have it captured in your calendar or remembered. Give you a morning brief. Watch for a specific person's email and ping you the moment it lands.
What can't it do (yet)?
No voice calls yet. No iCloud Mail yet. No deep document editing (it can read and summarize attachments, not edit them). No autonomous outbound — every email goes out only with your okay. Most "can't" answers are "not yet" — we ship updates roughly every two weeks.

Pricing

How much does it cost?
$99 per year. One plan, one price — less than 30¢ a day. The first 14 days are free, with no credit card required to start.
Why so cheap?
Because that's what I'd pay for it, and I built it for myself. No tiered upsell scheme, no "Pro" version that gates the actually-useful features. Same product for everyone.
Do I need a credit card to start the trial?
No. You text the number, set up the agent, use it fully for 14 days. On day 14 the agent texts you a payment link — only if you want to keep going.

Cancel & delete your data

How do I cancel?
Text "cancel" to your agent. No phone tree, no retention dance, no "are you sure?" loop. We confirm and end the subscription.
How do I delete my data?
Text "delete my data" to your agent. We confirm, then erase everything. To close the account entirely, text "delete my account". You can also revoke access from your provider's account settings and our access ends immediately on their end.
If I cancel, do you keep my data?
No retention games. Once you cancel and delete, your context and tokens are erased. Operational logs (timestamps, error traces — not message content) may be kept for 30 days for security and billing reconciliation, then expire automatically.
